My friend has a birthday party tonight, and it's a murder mystery party.

By tonight, i meant last Saturday.

It was fun. and...yeah.

This week so far has been...alright. Yesterday was...hectic. I don't want to talk about it really, it's not really my business to tell you alls. But whatevah.

Magic

So, play rehearsals have been going since last week, and this week has so far been...crazy.

Our director has to miss the majority of this week, and we're all left alone to fend for ourselves and rehearse on our own time.

We're supposed to have our monologues half memorized by Monday, and i've only read mine...one time. So...FSCPBAT.*

Power

So, i'm senior in high school now. That gives me alot to think about, which is happening quickly.

Graduating, going to a new school, getting into said school, moving out possibly. Ugh. so much.

What's wrong with me? i don't feel like writing now. But i want to. Whatever. Uh...bye?

The Long and Crazy River.

Good morning...? Evening? Afternoon? Well, whenever you're reading this...welcome. I suppose.

It is 2:00 AM on what is now September 13th, 2009. As of right now:

Name: Darren Hicks
Age: 17
Year in School: Senior
Current life status: Potentially hectic

This was once a blog where i shared my adolescent trials, turmoil, blunders, scrapes, mishaps, shenanigans, tomfoolery, and synonyms. I now plan to make this a blog about my transition into my adult vversions of those activities.

I have alot of ground to cover in these next few postings, missives, chapters of my blogvel [blog novel].

Let's uh...get things underway.

My senior year of high school started last Wednesday, and i'm already excited for what's yet to come. Not excited for what already did come. My classes?

0. Encore: With my crazy choir director Ms. Reeve. Which i'm totally positive i'll be sharing more about later.

1. Concert Choir. Oh yes. Two choir periods in a row.

2. Physics: The only area of sciences i'm really into more than a little. And the teacher's pretty cool. And i have alot of friends in that class.

3. Algebra 2: Itt's an okay class so far. Math always is. Don't know why.

Lunch: I eat during this period. In Sil's office. With my girlfriend of now 17 months.

4. Economics: Boy howdy, is this going to be interesting. Interesting like what will happen when someone gets bored enough to stab themselves?

5. English: My favorite teacher so far this year. I can't wait to do more in this class.

Alright, so that would be step 1 i'm assuming?

And now, as i stroke my greasy, unwashed in-need-of-shower-now hair, i ponder on what remains to be shared. How much? Alot. Yrah...I'll get on that as soon as possiblay.

In the meantime...hop on over to my twitter page. If you care to.

A note about LOVE

In response to Ben's recent note about hate, i decided to take things in a different direction. In fact, quite the opposite direction.

Ahem.

1. People who are polite.
Often times, walking through campus, there's the accidental bumping into. And not just light tapping of shoulder to shoulder, mind you. I mean a violent, jarring convergence of bodies that does not, surprisingly, prompt a "sorry", "excuse me" or "paron me". They're simply shrugged off and you're left to spend the next few minutes recovering and bitching to your friends. I do however applaud those who take the time to apoligize and live the moment with you. It leaves you with a smile, and a good day. Or good 3 minutes.

2. Weird rhymes.
Take this lyric from "Waste of Paint" by Bright Eyes
"i know a man who's mostly made of pain
he gets up, drives to work and straight back home again"
But he does not pronounce the word "uh-GAYN"m it is sung "uh-GEHN"
I like that. Moving on.

3. People who are there.
I don't mean simply, people who are present. I mean people who listen to everything. And they respond with advice. And they help you all they can, even if it's just listening to you. It's just really nice to have a helpful ear, and to have someone to vent to.

4. Weather.
It does crazy things. Especially now a days. It snows while the sky is blue, it's warm in December. Snow happens on Christmas. Two years in a row. Even though this year, it left my family trapped in the house, and we didn't/couldn't go anywhere. It's great. Most of the time.

That's about it. So far.

Progress

This is...the first post in only god knows how long, and i am sorry for the seemingly infinite silence. I've just been not wanting to/having no internet since mid-November.

Well, i've been about recently. More about than out.

New trimester started in November. With it brought English and IB Theatre into the mix. Which is always fun.

I've been noticing recently that whenever i have awful days, the next day always makes up for it in a gigantic way. My Friday was awful. I recieved news that turned out to be flase, with regards to someone close to me, I totally didn't know any of the lines for a scene i'm in in IB theatre, then i left my script at school so i couldn't study them over the weekend, and i stepped in mud on my way to 5th period. Good times.

I apologize i wasn't there for the end of the year awards, nor the roundup of gifts i got for Christmas. Forgive me. Plz. Thx. K Bai.
